St. John's Eve Celebration (backdated to the 23rd)

[It's only just stopped raining when Anita lights the bonfire.

She knows this is bad timing. She knows she should probably call the whole thing off. She knows anyone who does show up is probably going to be bruised to hell and back, at best. But it's St. John's Eve and she said there was going to be a party, and if there's one thing Anita is terrible at, it's giving up.

Besides, she did cook an absurd amount of food (with help, of course) and the bonfire is sort of ungodly huge, and she figures that everyone will want sustenance and warmth soon.

She's dressed all in white, as befits her position as host, and before anyone shows up she says the prayers by herself, because she doubts anyone else will want to. That's okay. She's pretty sure the gods will understand, given whole trapped-on-another-world and there's-just-been-a-war-on-the-moon situation.

If you decide to show up to the party outside Community Housing Building 4, there will be a ton of traditional Creole food, some music, a bonfire, and plenty of places to sit in case you're not feeling up to standing. Feel free to mingle!]

[Sitting is good. Okay no, right now sitting is fantastic. Especially when you've been following around some idiot demon brother who doesn't know when to quit for the past however many days it has been. It's becoming a bit of a challenge for Yukio to even keep his eyes open right now and this is coming from someone who runs on practically no sleep at all.

Speaking of demon brothers, Rin is probably the only reason Yukio is here in the first place. After running yourself ragged a little rest can go a long way. But no. He was stubborn and decided to come anyway. And now he's just sleeping here when he could have done that back home--!!

But no, enough of brothers and those wonderful brotherly relationship things. When not watching his brother and making sure he isn't going to be rolling into the fire Yukio will be sitting by the fire and enjoying the music. Maybe even socializing a little! Fitting in is good.]

[Hmm, this kid looks oddly familiar. Not in an I've-seen-you-before way; maybe in a you-resemble-someone-I-know way.

Either way, time to play hostess and meet someone new! Yay~]

All right thank you, perhaps a little tired but otherwise fine.

[It wouldn't be very party guest-y to just come along and start going on about how rough he's had it these past few days. Fine is fine.]

Would I be right in saying you're the host here? I'm sorry for just showing up like this. [He wasn't exactly invited after all and just came here to stop Rin from infecting people with the stupid.]

Please, don't apologize. The party's open to any resident who wants to have a good time. I know the timing's a little poor, but... [She shrugs.] Do you need anything? Oh, sorry - what's your name? I'm Anita.

[sharpness]

I think the timing is fine, after all there will be people who will be looking for something like this to take their minds off of things. [Plus back home there were parties and celebrations after missions, so sure why not.]

It's nice to meet you Anita, I'm Yukio Okumura.

I was hoping people might use this as a chance to wind down. It's nice to meet you too, Yukio. Hey, this might be an odd question, but have we met? You...remind me of someone.

[sharpness]

[His expression seems to falter for a split second at that but he recovers quickly.] No, I don't believe we have. You might have met my older brother though, his name is Rin. [Older, even if he's that little bit taller than him.]

Oh! I do know Rin - there's sort of a resemblance.

Yes, I've actually been told that before here. If you don't mind my asking, how did you come to meet Rin? [He's betting on terrible circumstances involving blue fire and other awful things.]

[anita_hero]

He was working in the restaurant I ended up in when I first arrived. He made me a sandwich. [Now, the second time they met were terrible circumstances involving blue fire and nudity, but she's over it.]

[sharpness]

I see. [Phew, that's a relief. At least they met on good terms and there weren't any flames right from the get go.] Just a sandwich though? Given cookery is his one productive skill you shouldn't hesitate to ask more from him in future.

Haha, I'm sure he has skills other than that. But I'll remember that next time I go to Seventh Heaven.

[sharpness]

If he does then he must have developed those skills in the few months I was absent. [Heh. Yeah, he doubts he has anything else.] Though come to think of it I've yet to visit my brother whilst he's at work. It would be interesting to see how he's coping.

What about you; do you cook?

Not often, however I believe I can at least follow a recipe if I need to.

[Who needs to cook when there's the cafeteria at True Cross and Rin around?]
