St. John's Eve Celebration (backdated to the 23rd)
[It's only just stopped raining when Anita lights the bonfire.
She knows this is bad timing. She knows she should probably call the whole thing off. She knows anyone who does show up is probably going to be bruised to hell and back, at best. But it's St. John's Eve and she said there was going to be a party, and if there's one thing Anita is terrible at, it's giving up.
Besides, she did cook an absurd amount of food (with help, of course) and the bonfire is sort of ungodly huge, and she figures that everyone will want sustenance and warmth soon.
She's dressed all in white, as befits her position as host, and before anyone shows up she says the prayers by herself, because she doubts anyone else will want to. That's okay. She's pretty sure the gods will understand, given whole trapped-on-another-world and there's-just-been-a-war-on-the-moon situation.
If you decide to show up to the party outside Community Housing Building 4, there will be a ton of traditional Creole food, some music, a bonfire, and plenty of places to sit in case you're not feeling up to standing. Feel free to mingle!]

It's nice to meet you, Rin! [She's decided she likes this boy, and not just because of his tail, though that certainly helps.] Hey, how come you were sleeping so close to the fire? Isn't it hot?

[She won't mention how unused she was to the thunder and lightning, and how badly it scared her. In retrospect, it seems kind of silly.]

[He grits his teeth a moment, but then releases that. Exhale] You handle it all okay though?
no subject
I... [She hesitates for a moment, not wanting to admit she's been scared by the intensity of the storm. Finally she nods.] Y-yeah. It wasn't so bad.

Yeah! Back home, I was the sub-leader of the Suna Suna clan and everything! [An honor she obtained by brawling with the current leader at the tender age of five, and still one of her proudest accomplishments.]

[With a proudish sort of smile, he ruffles her hair some more. He's not... perfect with kids. But oh well]

We did a lot of stuff, like treasure hunting and exploring, and we even had a secret base! And when some bandits tried to kidnap me, Leader and everyone stopped them. [The memory still makes her wince slightly.]

[With his eyes widening and being taken aback and all that stuff. He looks her over. ]

[She hastily flails her hands.] But don't worry; they didn't get me! I ran and hid and the Suna Suna clan-- [She hesitates slightly; this is the painful part of the memory.] They fought the bandits until the guards got there.

Ah, sounds like some good friends to have with you, then.
no subject
Mm! Really good friends! Except a lot of them moved to different places, so the Suna Suna clan is disbanded now.

What are you looking for?

[And like that she's off, heading around the bonfire for the food table.]
